Tony van der Kuyl
14th August 1946 - 24th January 2008

It is with much regret that we must inform everyone of the passing of Tony van der Kuyl, Director of SITC.

Tony was the founder of SITC in 1989, and headed the team for the past 18 years.

Tony passed away peacefully on the afternoon of Thursday 24th January in the company of his immediate family.

He was a larger than life character and will be sorely missed.

A celebration of his life and funeral service will take place at The Bonar Hall, Park Place, University of Dundee, at 1pm on Friday, 8th February 2008, thereafter to Barnhill Cemetery, Broughty Ferry at 2.30pm, to which all family and friends are respectfully invited.

Established in 1989 the Scottish Interactive Technology Centre (SITC) is a self funded research, design, production and development facility based within Moray House School of Education at the University of Edinburgh and is experienced in all facets of multimedia design, production and development.

Commercial partners have included Channel 4 Television, BBC London, Philips BV, Sony, Apple UK, British Telecom and Scottish Power. Government department commissioners include, Scottish Executive, Home Office, Department of Trade and Industry, DfEE, Welsh Office, DENI, European Union and many UK local authorities, Universities and Colleges.

Five of SITC’s products have won awards from both the European and British multimedia trade associations.
